Rare 18th Century Italian bench. This stunning bench would certainly make a statement in any room. The seat also lifts up giving you great storage space. As it is only 15″ deep it would work perfectly in a narrow space also. The original paint detail is stunning and possibly based on the Greek god Dionysus – the god of grape harvest, winemaking and wine, alcohol, especially wine played an important role in greek culture. (Just like today) As shown in picture 6 the wood on the back of this bench is even exceptional. A stunning 18th Century bench that is still usable today.
