I have had this antique French piece for several years hanging at home, both with the curtains tied back and a chair in the middle and also just hanging as shown on the wall in my hallway, I have never hung it over a bed, maybe that was its original purpose, but the colours and detail are just fabulous and I have enjoyed it as a decorative wall hanging. 8.5ft feet high, so it can be draped on the floor or not depending how high you hang it.
The wooden pelmet is 22″ wide at the top, each fabric panel is 23″ wide, x 2, with whatever gap you decide to have in the middle.
