A delightful period antique French thermometer in original condition. Temperatures recored from 1740, Poule 1753, all handwritten, Senegal, Serre. I believe the owners name was – Ferory Fiorony, also handwritten at the top. Remarkably the two original glass tubes are still attached. The wood has some historic worm holes that have long gone and has slightly warped in the frame over the years, there is nothing that detracts from this rare survivor.
