This charming oil is believed to be the current Lord Salisbury’s father. The original frame is certainly a talking point on its own with a royal crown sitting on a cushion. The gilding is all original and shows lovely detail. Early 20th Century. The original label on the back shows it was exhibited at a gallery in Bond Street London. I know very little about art and I have not done any further research on this piece, I bought him purely as I was very drawn to the painting and the charming frame. He was purchased from Wiltshire.
