Beautiful 20th Century Italian fresco that has been extracted from the wall. I have mounted this on a new wooded board so it can now be hung with just four small screws on the side. A stunning piece. The colours are very soft and muted in the flesh. While it does not have a huge amount of age it is a highly decorative wall piece of good proportion.
Fresco is a technique of mural painting executed upon freshly laid, or wet lime plaster. Water is used as the vehicle for the dry-powder pigment to merge with the plaster, and with the setting of the plaster, the painting becomes an integral part of the wall.
