Rare 18th Century French wash stand

£2,250

Rare 18th Century French wash stand. In the 18th Century water was only available outside, the top lead container would have been filled up by the housekeeper to be used for drinking water / to wash with in the home. This fabulous model would of been found in a castle. While there is a lot of age related wear to both the original lead pieces it is a true survivor and it still retains the original plug. The lead pieces are removable from the wooden frame. The paint is later. A fantastic decorative original piece for the home. Not suitable for water now. It would look lovely in a bathroom / hallway.
