I have had these in my private collection at home for several years. It is extremely rare to find a matching pair of samplers of this date in this condition. I believe Elizabeth Ann Douse was from the Nottinghamshire area. Both are dated 1839, one aged 7, one aged 8. It is incredible to see how her sewing improved in such a small space of time. I had the samplers framed in period antique maple frames with non reflective glass to protect them. There are no stains and the colours are still very vibrant all these years later. A lovely matching pair by the same girl. Priced for the pair.
